My membership in the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics has meant so much to me, and my practice. I remember in the days pre-ACE's my dental salesman used to come talk to us about the latest and greatest materials coming down the pike. Now, through the stream of information that I read daily, I am teaching him. It certainly has accelerated the growth of our practice, and our capabilities.
When I go to meetings locally, there are very few close relationships where people share their successes and failures openly. Now, with our national connections, I know more people when I travel for CE than when I do at local meetings. The ideas we interchange enable us to replicate success rather than having to re-invent the wheel. The friendships I have made in this organization, with other practitioners who are practicing on the same level is priceless. We are all in this together, and share in one another's successes.
To have achieved fellowship in the academy has brought me great pride in the achievement. Fellowship in an organization like ACE has provided unique benefits for me. Comprised of mostly general dentists, this organization and its member understand the thrills and the problems associated with developing a high end practice. There has never been a dental question that I have had that someone on the forum did not provide a meaningful answer. The camaraderie of the members is very special. You are accepted for who you are. Your assets are recognized and your warts and pimples are accepted. The credentialing process is fair and without the nit picking bashing so commonly reported about other organizations. Do the work. I have been a member of ACE and its former incarnation, Genr8tnext, since inception. In all the considerable Continuing Education that I have taken (I am the first to admit that I am a C.E. junkie!), I have never encountered a group of professional colleagues like this before.
